In 2018, my focus expanded when my son was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder - Angelman syndrome, which is so far incurable.
This personal experience led me to found the Assotiation of Gene Therapy, a patient led initiative dedicated to developing gene therapy for my son's condition.
Since then, I’ve been applying my engineering and quality management background to the biomedical field—colaborating with scientists, clinicians, and partners to support basic and preclinical research and development.
I have always believed in practical solutions, structured thinking, and long-term impact. Today, I work at the intersection of manufacturing and medicine—bringing quality principles into new, meaningful contexts.
Quality management principles are well at home in the pharmaceutical industry.
Below, you’ll find some moments from this journey.
Thanks to my wife Lenka, Asgent has strong presence on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

We are small core team with strong impact.

Here is a great video produced by Czech Television about Asgent’s plan for a cure, called The Gene Age.
In this public debate, moderated by Daniel Stach and recorded by Czech Television, we present Asgent’s journey—from two parents initiating basic research on Angelman syndrome in the Czech Republic, to building a comprehensive team.
The documentary features the entire spectrum of contributors: scientists in basic research, experts in applied research, doctors supporting clinical trials, and patient representatives.
It’s a long watch, but I believe it’s worth it. It answers many questions about the gene therapy development process we are currently leading.

In 2024, we completed the first patient count for Angelman syndrome in the Czech Republic.
There are over 80.
